1976 Trans Am Carburetor Sticking.
The Secondaries of the Quadrajet stick when floored..
1976 trans am carburetor sticking . A few days ago I decided to bang the gears and have some high speed fun and games. I punch it and go to hit second gear.. The throttle sticks and the motor revs real high. Until I hit the throttle again . To Bump it down some. Then a few blocks later I try it again. And the same thing. It only happens when I punch it and it’s at full throttle. So I decided to get some white lithium grease and hit some of the regular spots on the carb. An well see how that works.
To be honest it drives fine regularly but when you have a 400 4spd Trans Am. You gotta beat on it every now and then. Ok well maybe a little more then every now and then. But it is nice to have confidence beating on a car. And knowing that you are not going to nail a tree. Because of a stuck throttle and a easy fix. This is what I love the most about the car everything is simple.

No pain in the ass electronics such as annoying sensors. It’s either Gas – Spark or Air and that is it. Now trouble shooting can be a pain in the ass in any car. But it’s just more simple in these cars but at times it is a royal pain in the ass to find some parts. To tell the truth many places like Auto Zone and Pep Boys still carry a lot of parts.
I do not regret getting rid of my Expedition and the Air Condition in these cars are not like the newer cars. But that is perfectly fine by me there is nothing like driving a Pontiac 400 down the street. If you ever have had the pleasure of driving one. You definitely know what I mean .
Not only am I the founder of The JRX Foundation I am also the host of JRX Reviews. I love driving my Trans Am everywhere even state to state when we are helping people. Well weather permitting, She puts a lot of smiles on people’s faces and I love seeing that.
